Hello my friends. I'm Shepherd Sam and welcome to my farm. Baxter and I love having visitors come spend time with us. Every day is a new adventure, and we're so glad you're here. Come on, Baxter, let's go see what our farm friends are up to today. Have you ever had something happen that surprised you so much you couldn't believe it? Well, that reminds me of something that happened the other day to Cornbread the Donkey. Cornbread lives in the pasture with Million Major. He tries to look very important, but he can't get past his lovable face. When people see cornbread, they just smile because he can't help but make people happy. Every morning he slowly walks around the pasture, making sure every blade of grass is just the right height. One morning, cornbread found a nice soft spot in the grass. He had been working hard all morning and decided it was time for a little rest. So down he sat, right on top of a busy little bumblebee. Now, that little bee wasn't trying to be mean. He was gathering pollen from the flowers so he could help make honey back at the hive. But when cornbread accidentally sat on him, ouch! That surprised little bee gave cornbread one quick sting on his bottom. Cornbread jumped higher than anyone thought a donkey could jump. Why, I think he was so loud it scared all the birds away. Major looked up in surprise and came running over to see what was the matter. Hornbred kicked his back feet, spun around in a circle, and looked behind him to see what was happening. There wasn't anything there except one little bumblebee buzzing away toward the flowers as if to say, Well, I guess I'll get back to work. Poor Hornbred spent the next few minutes trying to look at a place he simply couldn't see. Well, before long, Hornbred was feeling much better. And would you believe it? He finished trimming every bit of grass in his pasture before supper. Friends, sometimes accidents happen. Most of the time nobody meant for anyone to get hurt. That little bee wasn't angry. He was simply doing the work God created him to do. So the next time something unexpected happens, remember to be patient, show kindness, and don't be too quick to get upset. Now, cornbread still checks very carefully before sitting down.
