Molly from Maryland asked Shepherd Sam if any children ever visit the farm. This week, Sam answers her question by introducing two very special friends!
Every Saturday, cheerful twins Emma and Ethan ride their bicycles over to Shepherd Sam's Farm to help feed the animals, do chores, and enjoy new adventures. Sometimes they even visit Miss Betsy's farm to help with Miss Patsy the cow and her playful calf, Tucker. And one of their favorite things to do is relax on the porch with Mr. Pockets and his faithful dachshund, Oliver, as they listen to a wonderful Bible story.

Hello my friends. I'm Shepherd Sam and welcome to my farm. Baxter and I love having visitors come spend time with us. Every day is a new adventure, and we're so glad you're here. Come on, Baxter, let's go see what our farm friends are up to today. Remember last week when Molly from Maryland wrote and asked me if there were any little boys and girls who visited the farm. Well, Molly, if you're listening today, this episode is especially for you. I'd like you to meet my two special friends, Emma and Ethan. Emma and Ethan are cheerful twin brother and sister who live right next door to my farm. I always know when Saturday morning has arrived because before long, I'll hear their bicycle bell ringing away. Those bicycle rings make the happiest sound you've ever heard. Before I even see them, I know exactly who it is. Good morning, Shepherd Sam, they'll call out with big smiles as they lean their bicycles against the fence. They're always ready to help. On Saturday, they might help me carry feed buckets to Larry the Llama and Cornbread the Donkey. Another Saturday they might bring water for the animals. They're very careful, kind, and always try their very best. Of course, not every Saturday is spent here on my farm. Sometimes Emma and Ethan ride their bicycles over to Miss Betsy's farm. Miss Betsy has a gentle cow named Miss Patsy, and helping feed Miss Patsy is one of Emma's favorite jobs. Ethan enjoys it too, but if you ask him, his favorite part is spending time with Miss Patsy's playful little calf named Tucker. Now, Tucker loves to run. He'll race around the pasture, kick up his heels, and sometimes try to see if Emma and Ethan can keep up with him. I'm happy to tell you they usually cannot. That little calf is just too fast. When their chores are finished, Emma and Ethan enjoy some warm chocolate chip cookies Miss Betsy made and a cool glass of milk. And then on their way home, Emma and Ethan stop by my porch to say goodbye. And mister Pockets is usually there with me. He likes to visit and bring his little dachshund Oliver. Oliver and Baxter are good friends, and they love seeing Emma and Ethan. Emma and Ethan enjoy sitting on the porch listening while mister Pockets shares one of his favorite Bible stories. Sometimes it's David and Goliath. Sometimes it's about Daniel in the lion's den. And sometimes it's about Jesus calming the storm. Mr Pockets has a special way of telling Bible stories that make you feel like you were standing right there and watching everything happen. And you know something else? When the story is over, Emma and Ethan almost always have a question or two. And I like that because questions help us learn and help us grow. And God likes it when we ask questions with hearts that want to know him better. That's one of the things I really enjoy most about Emma and Ethan. They're curious. They like to discover and try new things. They like to help others and enjoy working hard. And they love learning about God. I think that's a wonderful way to grow up. I have a feeling you'll be hearing a lot more about Emma and Ethan in the days ahead. Sometimes they'll help solve a little problem around the farm. And sometimes they'll discover something exciting. Sometimes they'll simply remind us that serving others can be one of the greatest adventures of all. I hear Baxter barking out by the barn. That usually means somebody needs my help. It might even be Emma and Ethan arriving on their bicycles. I guess I'd better go find out. Until next time, remember this.
